BYD Seagull (aka BYD Dolphin Mini) Set to Enter Indonesian Market – Here’s What We Know

Jakarta (JV) – The BYD Seagull, also known as the BYD Dolphin Mini, is reportedly gearing up for its Indonesian debut. This speculation arises after the name "BYD Dolphin Mini" was registered in Indonesia’s intellectual property database, with protection valid until December 22, 2033.

Compact Yet Sporty Design

Despite its mini size, the Seagull boasts a sporty and modern design. Its dimensions include:  
- Length: 3,780 mm  
- Width: 1,715 mm  
- Height: 1,540 mm  
- Wheelbase: 2,500 mm  

Electric Powertrain & Performance

The Seaagull is powered by an electric motor producing 73 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque. It offers two battery options:  
1. 30.08 kWh LFP Blade Battery – 305 km range (CLTC)  
2. 38.88 kWh LFP Blade Battery – 405 km range (CLTC)  

Competitive Pricing

In China, the Seagull starts at 98,000 Yuan (around Rp 210 million) for the 305 km variant, positioning it as a strong rival to the Wuling BinguoEV (Air EV) and Chery eQ1 (iCar).  

Expected Launch at IIMS 2025  

Industry insiders suggest the BYD Seagull will make its official debut at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025, scheduled for February 13-25, 2025.
