East Java Prepares for Porprov IX 2025: Panderman Gravity Park Confirmed as Official Mountain Bike Venue

JatimVoice.com - With the East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov IX) 2025 just around the corner, official venues are being finalized one by one. Following the confirmation of Taman Rekreasi Selecta as the host for diving competitions, Panderman Gravity Park in Batu City has now been designated as the official venue for the Mountain Bike (MTB) Downhill event.

The decision was confirmed by Batu Mayor Nurochman on Saturday (17/5/2025), stating that the selection was based on direct recommendations from the sport’s governing body and the East Java branch of the National Sports Committee (KONI). The track, descending the slopes of Mount Panderman, meets Porprov standards in terms of safety and course difficulty for various skill levels.  

"The selection of Panderman Gravity Park is based on its proven track record, having hosted prestigious events, including the recent Panderman Gravity Park Downhill 2025 on 9–11 May, which featured riders from across Indonesia and ASEAN countries," he explained.  

However, he emphasized the need for ongoing maintenance and improvements to ensure the track remains suitable for provincial and national-level competitions.  

"This decision aligns with our strategy to boost Sport Tourism in Batu City. We will enhance collaboration with stakeholders, including Perhutani, to ensure professional management of the venue," he added.  

Managed by BUM Desa Mayangsari, Panderman Gravity Park is one of East Java’s top downhill tracks, offering riders both a challenging course and scenic views of Mount Panderman.  

Fahresa Indra Renaldy, Chair of the Panderman Gravity Park Downhill 2025 organizing committee, revealed that a new 1.45-kilometer track named "Trek Menthok" has been prepared, featuring a 224-meter descent. Plans are underway to extend it to 2 kilometers.  

"We’ve designed tracks for all skill levels, ensuring inclusivity, safety, and competitiveness while promoting sports-based tourism," he said.  

With Selecta and Panderman Gravity Park confirmed as official venues for two major sports, Batu City is gearing up to host Porprov IX East Java 2025, scheduled for June–July.
