The recipients are currently studying at the University of Surabaya (Ubaya), Universitas Islam Majapahit (Unim), and the Uluwiyah Islamic Institute (IAI). The scholarship aims to ensure that high-achieving students do not drop out due to financial constraints.
“No child in Mojokerto should have their education hindered by economic limitations. Intelligence and determination know no background,” said Al Barra during the scholarship handover, as reported by Beritasatu.com on Monday (26/5/2025).
This initiative is part of the regent’s broader program, *Catur Abhipraya Mubarok*, which seeks to empower Mojokerto’s youth to become intelligent, resilient, and future-ready individuals.
“The best way to achieve this is through education. Therefore, the Mojokerto government is committed to easing the financial burden of high-achieving students so they can pursue higher education,” he explained.
In addition to scholarships, the Mojokerto administration has allocated Rp28 billion in aid to 51 religious institutions. The funds will be used to construct or renovate places of worship, ensuring comfortable facilities for the community.
“I urge the leaders of religious institutions receiving these grants to utilize the funds responsibly and effectively to enhance education and worship activities,” Al Barra added.
