The incident began when Nur connected with Zalfin on TanTan two days prior. After exchanging WhatsApp numbers, they arranged to meet on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at around 7:30 PM in front of a cemetery in Jajar Hamlet, Jasem Village, Ngoro. Zalfin then offered to ride with Nur to a minimarket on Manduro Main Road.

At the minimarket, Zalfin asked Nur to buy food inside. Seizing the opportunity, he fled with her motorcycle and belongings. “When the victim returned, the motorcycle and the suspect were gone. The total loss is estimated at Rp 20 million,” said Ngoro Police Chief Commissioner Heru Purwandi on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Police are investigating the case and have gathered the suspect’s description from Nur and witnesses, though his true identity remains unknown. Authorities have processed the crime scene and secured evidence, including the vehicle’s ownership document and the phone’s box, which were taken by the suspect.

Police urge the public to exercise caution when forming relationships online, advising against trusting strangers too quickly or handing over valuables. “Don’t easily trust or give vehicles or valuable items to someone you’ve just met, especially through social media apps,” Purwandi added.
