Strengthening Worker Welfare Commitments
Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi, affectionately known as Pak Yes, emphasized that Labor Day serves as a reminder of the importance of creating dignified industrial relations and fostering harmony among workers, employers, and the government.
"This moment reinforces our commitment to develop quality job opportunities, enhance productivity, and safeguard workers' rights in Lamongan," Pak Yes stated.
Notable Achievements in Employment
The regent highlighted significant progress, including:
- A drop in the open unemployment rate (TPT) from 5.46% (August 2023) to 4.34% (December 2024)
- Receiving four Occupational Safety and Health (K3) awards from the East Java Governor in 2024
- Efforts to institutionalize K3 practices in workplaces
Future Worker Support Programs
The Lamongan government pledged to continue facilitating social dialogue between workers and employers through:
- Tripartite forums
- Vocational training programs
- Competency development initiatives
