Indonesia Announces 2025 National Science Olympiad (OSN) Provincial Qualifiers for Elementary and Junior High Students

JatimVoice.com – The list of participants advancing to the provincial level of the 2025 National Science Olympiad (OSN) for elementary (SD/MI/equivalent) and junior high (SMP/MTs/equivalent) students has been released. Students who competed in the district/city-level OSN (OSN-K) can check their results for the 2025 provincial stage (OSN-P) on the official website of the National Achievement Center at https://pusatprestasinasional.kemdikbud.go.id/, sorted by province in Attachment 1. The National Science Olympiad is a prestigious talent competition in science, organized for students at the elementary, junior high, and senior high (SMA/MA/SMK/equivalent) levels. The event follows a tiered selection process, starting from district/city levels, progressing to provincial, and culminating at the national level, aiming to identify top talent from 38 provinces and Indonesian schools abroad. This structured system ensures fair opportunities for students across Indonesia to excel and emerge as potential science prodigies.

According to the Indonesian Talent Development Agency (BPTI) under the National Achievement Center, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the 2025 OSN district/city-level competition for elementary students took place on June 11-12, 2025. A total of 321,043 students participated, with the breakdown as follows:  

- Science (IPA): 111,555 students  

- Social Studies (IPS): 93,332 students  

- Mathematics: 116,156 students  

Following the judges’ evaluations, 6,550 students qualified for the provincial stage:  

- Science (IPA): 2,177 students  

- Social Studies (IPS): 2,170 students  

- Mathematics: 2,203 students  

Per the 2025 OSN guidelines for elementary and equivalent levels, local education offices are authorized to issue decrees for OSN-K winners based on jury assessments and provide certificates or awards to participants and winners. Local offices may also announce the 2025 OSN-P finalists for their respective regions. Notably, 225 districts/cities did not send participants or conduct selections, as listed in the provided attachment.
