The announcement was made by Joko Raharjo, Senior Vice President of Operations II at Petrokimia Gresik, during the 39th Petrokimia Gresik Innovation Convention (KIPG) held in Gresik, East Java, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
“We are grateful that innovation has become ingrained in the DNA of Petrokimia Gresik’s people. This year, all Grade I and II officials also participated in the Breakthrough Innovation program, reflecting that innovation is a collective responsibility, not just from the grassroots but also from top leadership,” Joko said.
He emphasized the critical role of innovation in fulfilling the company’s mandate to distribute subsidized fertilizers, supporting Indonesia’s national food self-sufficiency goals. The innovations have streamlined production and distribution processes, ensuring effective and efficient operations, maintaining fertilizer availability in line with regulations, and guaranteeing quality to boost agricultural productivity.
Joko noted that recent government policies have made it easier for farmers to access subsidized fertilizers. To maximize these policies, Petrokimia Gresik must deliver optimal performance as the implementing agency. “This underscores the importance of innovation, enabling us to fulfill the government’s mandate to support national food self-sufficiency,” he added.
The KIPG, a platform established by Petrokimia Gresik to foster innovation across all company levels, has been held consistently for 39 years. It serves as a strategic forum to promote continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and value creation that directly enhances the company’s competitiveness and supports its transformation into a sustainable agroindustry leader.
This year’s KIPG saw participation from 1,752 innovation groups, comprising 76 Operational Innovation Groups (GIO), 1,461 Suggestion System (SS) groups, 79 Individual Projects, and 136 5R (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, Rajin) groups.
